Executive Director

Gregory Carter joined BSG in 2004 after serving two years as Vice President of Sales for nii communications - a San Antonio-based CLEC. Previous to nii, Mr. Carter served as Vice President of Operator Services for Qwest Communications after leaving Billing Concepts (dba Aptis Software) in 2000. From 1991 through 1998, Mr. Carter served in various sales and marketing management roles at US Long Distance (USLD). Mr. Carter began his telecommunications career in 1988 when he joined Teleconnect, an Iowa-based long distance, database marketing and operator services company.

Non-Executive Directors

Patrick D. Heneghan is Chairman of the Board of Billing Services Group Limited. He is the founder (retired) of Heneghan PR, one of Ireland’s leading corporate communications agencies, and has been actively involved in many of the country’s most high-profile public relations issues and M&A transactions. He was formerly Public Relations Manager and a Director of the tobacco firm P.J. Carroll & Co. Ltd. A Fellow of the Public Relations Institute of Ireland, a founding member of the US-Ireland Council for Commerce & Industry and a former Director of the state-owned National Concert Hall.

J. Alan Lindauer is currently a Director of Towne Bank, and a member of the bank’s Executive Committee and Compensation Committee. He is a Director of the Towne Bank Norfolk Board and is Chairman of the Loan Committee. Mr. Lindauer also serves on various boards, including Old Dominion University Business School and the Virginia Maritime Heritage Foundation. Between 1986 and 2007, he was President of Waterside Capital Corporation and Waterside Management, Inc., a business consulting firm. He was also a director of Commerce Bank of Virginia from 1986 to 1999, chairman of BB&T Holdings Co. of Va, Inc. from 1986 to 1999, and a director of Citizens Trust Bank from 1982 to 1985. In 1963 Mr. Lindauer founded Minute-Man Fuels which he managed until 1985.

Admiral Leighton W. Smith retired from the U.S. Navy on 1 October 1996 and is now President of consulting firm Leighton Smith Associates, Inc. He is a Distinguished Fellow at the Center for Naval Analysis, Chairman Emeritus of the board of Trustees for the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation and a past chairman of the board of the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association. Admiral Smith sits on the boards of several corporations and, amongst numerous awards and decorations, he is an Honorary Knight of the British Empire.
